CUBU First in SCY and Second in LCM in USA

In USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championship for the 2009-2010 seasons, Curl Burke finished first in the entire USA in the Short-Course Yard Championship and second in the USA in the Long-Course Championship.

In the SCY Championship, Curl Burke scored 246,278 followed by RMSC with 242,576 and Swim Atlanta with 241,511. In the LCM Championship, Curl-Burke finished just 600 points behind Swim Atlanta 237,760 to 237,130.

Combined, Curl Burke scored more points than any other club in the USA.

Congratulations to all swimmers who contributed to the Curl Burke's outstanding performances.

CUBU Spirit

CUBU swimmers use a variety of tools to help them swim fast -- from fins to snorkels to paddles to cords. Getting a jump start on the short-course season, some CUBU swimmers found a new use for noodles.

Pawlowicz represents US at Junior Pan Pacs

As one of the 46 "of the nation's fastest up-and-coming swimmers," Kaitlin Pawlowicz was named to the Junior Pan Pacific Championship Team. The Junior Pan Pacific Championships took place at the Kihei Aquatic Center in Maui, Hawaii, from August 26-30. The meet featured the top National Youth Teams from the Pacific Rim, including the U.S., Canada, Japan and Australia.

Kaitlin Pawlowicz finished 3rd in the 200 Fly, 9th in 1500 Free and 11th in the 400 IM.

Complete Results for Junior Nationals

Junior Nationals fiinished on Friday, August 13, in Irvine, California. The Women scored 30 points and the Men scored 12. Both scored more than any other PVS team.

Kaitlin Pawlowicz finished second in the 200 Final, won the B Final of the 400 IM and the C Final of the 400 Free. Janet Hu placed 13th in the 100 Fly. James Crabb finished 21st in the 200 Fly. On the final night, Philip Hu, Danny McDermott, James Crabb and Ryan Dunne placed 11 in the 400 Medley Relay. Earlier the Men came in 27th in both the 400 and 800 Free Relays. Ryan Dunne, Serge Gould, James Crabb, and Philip Hu swam on the 400. Danny McDermott joined Ryan, Serge and James on the 800.

CUBU Wins Women's, Men's and Combined Titles at Super Sectionals

At the 2010 Speedo Championship Series Long Course "Super Sectional" in Buffalo, NY, Curl-Burke won the Women's, Men's and Combined Titles.

On Sunday night, the meet ended with the Women finishing 1-3 in the 400 Medley Relay (Brittany Boone, Rachel Canty, Hellen Moffitt, and Jayme Katis and Kendall Hough, Natalie Martin, Sofie Pietrantonio and Katie Ledecky) and the Men taking second. (Youssef Hammoud, Chuck Katis, Mark Sarman, and Cyrus Hashemi).

Earlier, the Women also won the 800 Freestyle Relay (Jayme Katis, Katie Ledecky, Rebecca Bott and Kendall Hough).

Individually, Katie Ledecky won the 200, 400, 800 and 1500 Freestyles and 400 IM. Brad Phillips won the 400 Freestyle. Brittany Boone won the 200 Backstroke. Chuck Katis won the 200 Breaststroke.
