Come find out what all the excitement is about the world renowned Curl Burke's newest site in Maryland at the state of the art facility at Georgetown Prep.

Please come to our last Open House on Wednesday, September 8 at 6:30pm  at the Georgetown Prep pool.  Please bring your suit and be ready to swim so that we can ensure you are properly placed. 

The Open House will be an excellent opportunity to meet the new Head Coach of the Prep site:  Yuri Suguiyama.  Yuri joins CUBU coaches Richard Rosenthal, Susan Williams and Matt Mongelli.  

Before joining the Prep staff, Coach Yuri was the Head Coach of CUBU's  Holton-Arms Facility.   Under his direction and energy, the program at Holton blossomed.   In 2007, 20 Holton athletes qualified for Junior Olympics and seven athletes scored  354 points.     At the 2010 Junior Olympics,  50 Holton athletes qualified and 16  athletes scored 896.5 points.  

This year, swimmers whom Yuri coaches had 11 times that are on the Top 100 All Time list (including 2 in the top 10).  They have 17 times in the Top 20 for this year (including four that are first in the Country).  They have broken numerous PVS records,  been named PVS Outstanding Athletes, and been High Point at the Tom Dolan Invitational and Junior Olympics.    Katie Ledecky has been coached by Coach Yuri for 2 and a half years.  To read about a Reach for the Wall article about Katie, please click here:   Age Only a Number for Ledecky and Conger

Coach Yuri grew up a Curl Burke Swimmer.  He was, among many other things, an Olympic Trials Qualifier, CUBU record holder, Metros record holder, and on the all time top 100 list himself.  He went on to swim at UNC where he was an All-American.
